Since the last edition of Performance News from Counting Opinions we have been busy with our commitment to continuous improvement and our focus on the development of our evidence-based management tools for the Library sector. These are very exciting times at Counting Opinions

University of Maryland SLIS LibSat Analysis Paper

Counting Opinions and the Denver Public Library (DPL)* teamed up with University of Maryland SLIS students enrolled in a Planning and Evaluation course led by Dr. Neal Kaske (Spring ’10 term). Under the collaboration, the students were given access to DPL’s LibSatLibrary Customer Satisfaction Management Service results and their assignment was to employ the LibSatLibrary Customer Satisfaction Management Service reporting functionality and conduct an analysis of the data and provide recommendations to DPL management. IFLA-MLS Annual Data Survey

Under the aegis of the Toronto Public Library, COCounting Opinions’s LibPASLibrary Performance Assessment Service solution is currently being deployed for the data capture and ongoing report(s) outputs functionality for the annual MLS data collection on behalf its member public libraries, globally. MLS’s LibPASLibrary Performance Assessment Service reporting features include the integration of historical data, benchmarking, and advanced global currency management features. The result is a robust, comprehensive, report outputs capability in support their individual MLS members’ operations’ and advocacy initiatives.

ACRL Metrics

The Association of College and Research Libraries selected Counting Opinions to revamp and manage its web-based, “historical data” subscription service. “ACRLMetrics” is “making waves” in academic assessment circles. Click here for details.

Note: ACRLAssociation of College and Research Libraries has recently expanded its relationship with Counting Opinions to include the collection and management of its Annual Trends Survey data collected from Colleges and Universities across North America. The 2010 data collection program will commence in January, 2011.

LibPAS Consulting

Driven by Counting Opinions’ subscribers who have had specific implementation deadlines, projects, personnel turnover, etc., and wanted direct “hands-on” support, Counting Opinions is now offering the LibPASLibrary Performance Assessment Service Consulting service for its subscribers.

Khan Academy

The mission of the Khan Academy is to empower everyone, everywhere with a free, world-class education.

While “distance learning” is not a new concept, Salman Khan has taken a somewhat novel approach to the subject. If you are not already aware of this website, it is definitely worth a look – www.khanacademy.org
